the crew is twitching to help power through the waves. its not illegal at all, in fact, anyone whos ever trained in a 470 will have had extensive coaching on how to do so kinetically with their skipper. over 11 kts there are absolutely no rules against using kinetics, and on the downwind, crews are even encouraged to pump the spin on every wave. if you sail a 470 correctly you easily keep up with 29ers on the upwind and may even pass them in light breeze.

they do that to get more weight out away from the boat to keep it flat dumbass, you have probably never sailed anyway so you cant really say much

its not slow in heavy winds becoz it bounces the rig which opens the leech of the main and exhaustes the wind out of it soo it de-powers the rig in heavy airs
